WYMN \’(h)wim\ is the artist project of music producer Blaire Michael. The artist name is a combination of three words: whim, women, and hymn. Blaire began making music on a whim during graduate school and writes songs that explore her relationships with the women in her life, as well as her struggles to reconcile her religious upbringing - the hymns of her youth - with her life experiences. Blaire describes WYMN as ‘memoir rock’ because of the intimacy and vulnerability of the personal stories she shares in her music. Listeners have described the music as alternative dream rock, shoe-gaze, and heavy emo rock.
